Bytes Free! Version 1.04.000 Copyright (C) 1994 Patrick Brennan Readme.txt Bytes Free! is a Visual Basic program and requires the file VBRUN300.DLL to be present in your WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. If you do not have this file, you can probably find it on most BBS's and all major online services. Overview ======================================================== Thank you for trying Bytes Free!. Bytes Free! combines a handy disk space meter with a drag and drop trash can. You can use the powerful features of File Manager to locate, sort, and select files then drag and drop them on Bytes Free! As files are deleted, Bytes Free! keeps track of the amount of disk space made available. This makes Bytes Free! very handy if you need to make a specific amount of space available or simply want to delete unwanted files. Refer to the online help file for more information on using Bytes Free! Installing the Shareware files ================================== Unzip the files in BFREE.ZIP to a directory of choice. The THREED.VBX file can go in your WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory but a word of caution is in order. There are many different programs that rely on THREED.VBX and there are several different versions being distributed with various programs. It is important that you always have the most recent (latest file date) version of THREED.VBX in your WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. If you should later install an older version of THREED.VBX replacing the version supplied with Bytes Free! you may experience program errors. If you have sufficient disk space, it is recommended that you simply keep the THREED.VBX distributed with BYTES FREE! in the same directory as the BFREE.EXE and other associated files and not place it in the WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. Installation ==================================================== 1. Copy this file to your WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory THREED.VBX NOTE: If you already have this file, be sure to check the file date and use the latest version if the dates differ. 2. Make sure that VBRUN300.DLL is also present in your WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. 3. Copy these files to the directory of choice, but they should always be in the same directory.
